My Funny Bone

Last month Curt and I went to see a comedy show with Brad and Rachel. The show was held at a Woodside Bible Church in Troy Michigan. When we got there it was already packed and there were no available seats. We ended up sitting on the steps, but it was so worth a little bit of discomfort.

This is Rachel and I before the show started.

This is comedian Tom Ryan. He was the opening act and he was hysterical. My stomach and my cheeks hurt when he was done with his routine. I don't remember the last time I laughed so hard. I was worried that I would be disappointed by Tim when he came on because this guy was so funny.

I need not to have worried. Tim was even funnier. I laughed so hard that I ended up with heart burn. My eyes were tearing and I thought I would expire right then. If you have never heard of Tim Hawkins or seen his stuff, you can go to http://timhawkins.net/ and watch some clips. He is funny on video, but you definately need to see him live if you get the opportunity.

I've Been Tagged.....

by http://fiveofgreen.blogspot.com/ .

The Rules of the Game:
1) Link to your tagger
2) Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some randon, some wierd
3) Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs
4) Let them know they've been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog

7 Facts about Me.....

1) I love cows. When I was a little girl we would get a cow to raise for a year and then it would become dinner. I have loved them ever since. Curt says we will never have a house that has a barn because he knows that I would put a cow (or two) in there.
2) I have broken both of my ankles almost exactly a year a part and of course it ruined both summers.
3) I got engaged to my husband when I was 17 and married when I was 19. We are going to be celebrating our 13th anniversary next month.
4) I am an only child with 2 fabulous step- sisters. I had the best of both worlds. They are both older than I am so they were out of the house and I didn't have to share, but I have all the love a houseful of girls can give.
5) My two best friends are named Rachel. It confuses my husband endlessly because he never knows which one I am talking about. My boys however just seem to know.
6) In college I majored in social studies and minored in environmental science. Just saying it makes me feel a little geeky. But, I can tell you for a fact that bird poo does not harbor bacteria, just in case you get into a sticky situation.
7) I enjoy Nascar. I don't just watch it when the hubby does, I watch it when I'm all alone. GO JIMMIE!!!!!

Who am I going to tag?? Well, most of my blogger friends have already done this so I am going to pick a sweet girl that goes to my church. I checked and she hasn't done this yet!!

Jacob and His Markers

When I think about Jacob, I think about his markers. He loves them. He takes them to Grandma's house when he goes overnight. He uses them all the time and he is very creative with them. Most of the time he uses them to create masterpieces, either pictures or picture books, but sometimes he hooks them together to make a long line of them and pretends its a sword or light saber or some other form of weaponry. He has actually worn his markers out...dried them up to nothing. I don't think I ever used my markers enough to wear them out.

This is the way Jacob looks for much of the day. He does play with his toys, he watches movies, he tortures his brother, but he loves to draw. Sometimes he will draw for hours and Ethan, his sidekick, will just sit next to him and watch not saying anything (which for Ethan must be hard for he is very talkative). I love his creativity. He draws everything from our back yard to dinosaurs and snowmen. You name, he will draw it. Neither Curt or I share this talent and we are very much in awe of it.

This is how his fingers look all the time. He always has marker on his fingers. It is washable, but there are so many layers that even soaking in a bubble bath doesn't get it all off. I wonder if he will always love to draw. Will it someday be part of his profession. Curt (with his love of movies) thinks that Jacob would make a great story boarder. I hope that whatever he does, his creativity and love of drawing will not go away.

I'm Still Here!!

Ok, so I know that I have been horrible at updating our blog. I can't say that I have an excuse other than I just haven't gotten around to do it. The funny thing is, I still look at it every day and say "I really need to post something new". With that in mind I took some pictures today and I will post them tomorrow. I hadn't taken pictures since Jacob's valentines party at school and I haven't posted those either. They will be uploaded by tomorrow afternoon. I promise. I hope that you are all well and are having a good day.

Update on the Sickies

I just wanted to let everyone know that Jacob and Ethan are better. They still have the lingering cough that starts when they get wound up. At least they are getting wound up which is a huge improvement from last weekend. Neither Curt or myself caught this nasty bug, Thank the Lord. I can't tell you how much I was praying about that. Thank you to all of you that prayed for us too.

Sick House

This is how Ethan looked on Thursday. He was running a fever of 102.8, but that has gone down a little. I took him to the doctor on Friday and they gave him an antibiotic. He seemed to be doing a bit better, but last night the congestion got the best of him and he tossed his noodles, literally. He is still struggling a bit.

Yesterday morning Jacob woke up with a fever of 102.2 so off to the after hours clinic we went. It was my first trip to one of those lovely establishments. I was so afraid that we were going to get something that we didn't already have. Hopefully we won't, I was sure to put hand sanitizer on Jacob and myself BEFORE we got into the van. Jacob was given some Omoxicillen and something to dry up the cough and nasal congestion. He is actually improved some overnight.

So far Curt and I aren't showing any signs of catching this bug, but who knows what the next week will bring. I'm praying for HEALTH!!
